Sonya brings a creative, out-of-the-box spirit to 4-H. Her spirit has helped to make our Metro program in Springfield flourish. She has an amazing ability to connect with youth as a leader and has accomplished making them feel comfortable enough to extend that conversation into other areas as needed. Sonya uses her organizational and planning skills to implement powerful end-of-the-year showcases where youth demonstrate everything they learn throughout the year. Her showcases bring an audience of over 100 people every year. She has also developed a mime/dance team that is highly sought after within the community as well. Sonya’s role as a leader is a true reflection of the tremendous amount of growth displayed by the youth she works with and the relationships they have not only with their families but one another and we are blessed to have her on our team.
