It is with pleasure that Henry County nominates Jim Geuns for induction into the Illinois 4-H Hall of Fame. Jim began his 4-H career as a member of the Atkinson Boosters.  In 1971, he exhibited the Grand Champion Steer, which cemented his future in the cattle industry. He was a club leader for 14 years and the parent of four 4-H members. When the Henry County Fair needed a beef superintendent, he volunteered. Over the next ten years, he ran all the beef shows - 4-H, Junior, and Open. To this day, Jim remains a valuable asset to 4-H members. He is always on hand to teach members about proper care, feeding, and fitting of their cattle. His passion for both the cattle industry and 4-H is infectious, and he leaves a little piece of that enthusiasm with everyone he meets. His devotion to the 4-H program, the youth and the people of Henry County make him a much deserving inductee and we are grateful for his presence in our lives.
