Tillie Kaufman served as a 4-H leader of the Piopolis Busy Bees 4-H Club from 1959-1979. Her main project areas back then were cooking and baking, she could probably still tell you the brownie recipe! Her greatest joy was sewing. Over the years she has helped many youth learn how to sew, quilt and mostly rip out stitches. Many of her former members have fond memories of the countless hours they spent with her learning how to sew. She continues to support 4-H as she recently taught a quilting workshop and is currently helping a member make two quilts for her twin niece and nephew that will arrive this summer. When you mention 4-H and sewing in Hamilton County, Tillie's name will definitely come up!
