Phyllis may not have served as club leader, but she led in her own way. As a teen, Phyllis was a camp counselor, chaperone for county events, and in 1968, she was able to spend 6 weeks in Denmark as an IFYE Teen Ambassador. Phyllis’s passion and dedication toward 4-H did not stop after she graduated out of the 4-H program, she went on to become a state volunteer and a member of the Wayne County Foundation board. Phyllis served as a chaperone for the Citizenship Washington Focus trip and she served for 20 years on the foundation board, 10 of which she was President.
